Rutan Rangoon

Inspired by the wild-looking aircraft designed by Burt Rutan, this pizza takes the same approach. When you stop following the traditional design, sometimes you end up with something even better.

The Rutan Rangoon starts with a rich cream cheese base, loaded with crab meat, mozzarella, sweet chili sauce, and finished with green onions. It’s different, a little unexpected, and proof that sometimes a classic idea just needs a new runway.

Burt Rutan

If you’ve ever seen an airplane that made you stop and say “wait… that doesn’t look right,” there’s a good chance it came from the mind of Burt Rutan. The legendary aircraft designer became famous for building planes that looked completely different from the ones most of us grew up seeing. Instead of the usual tail and wings, many of his designs used forward wings, unusual shapes, or engines mounted in strange places.

The reason was simple. Rutan believed airplanes didn’t have to look traditional to fly well. By rethinking where the wings, tail, and engines went, he could make airplanes lighter, more efficient, and sometimes safer. Many of his designs used something called a canard, which is a small wing up front that helps control the airplane and prevents certain types of stalls. It looks unusual, but it actually solves real flying problems.

Over the years, Rutan designed dozens of experimental aircraft, including the Rutan Long‑EZ, the Rutan VariEze, and even the record-breaking Rutan Voyager. His work proved that sometimes the best way forward in aviation is to stop copying what came before and try something completely different.

We took that same approach with our newest special.

The Bosses Pick

We let Don call the pizza coupon this week, and he said it’s time to take it back to the beginning.

If you want to learn to fly, you start at ground school. There’s a lot to cover before you ever leave the runway.

The Ground School pizza is a little like that too. Red sauce, spinach, tomatoes, mozzarella, red onion, red pepper, pineapple, and banana peppers all working together in one place.

So this week, on behalf of the boss, take $5 off any large or small.

Use code: SCHOOL.

Cherry Bandit

We’re lining up on final approach with The Cherry Bandit.

The month is moving, and this special has held strong from takeoff to now. Cherry bourbon sauce, brisket burnt ends, red onions, mozzarella, goat cheese, and that last drizzle across the top. Sweet, smoky, bold, and still pulling attention every time it leaves the oven.

If it’s been in your regular rotation, you already know. If you’ve been circling and waiting for the right moment, this is it.

Patty Wagstaff

This week’s Barnstormer Bite features Patty Wagstaff, a name that hardly needs an introduction in the aerobatic world. A three-time U.S. National Aerobatic Champion and one of the most respected performers on the airshow circuit, Patty has spent decades setting the bar for precision and control in the box. For many women in aviation, she’s long been proof that skill and confidence belong in every cockpit.

In 2025, she made her final performance at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, retiring from airshow flying at age 74. It marked the close of an extraordinary chapter in aviation, and this week’s episode is a small, fun nod to a pilot whose impact goes far beyond the smoke trail.

The Pilots Pick

We let the crew call it again this week, and after the buzz of National Margarita Day over the weekend, they landed on The Vintage Margherita.

Classic red sauce, fresh mozzarella, basil, and that drizzle of Corto olive oil. Simple, balanced, and the kind of pizza that reminds you why the classics stick around.

On behalf of the world’s best ground crew, take $5 off any large or small Vintage Margherita this week.

Cherry Bandit

We’re over halfway through the month and The Cherry Bandit is still leading the charge.

What started as a fan favorite return has quickly turned into our most talked-about special yet. Cherry bourbon sauce, brisket burnt ends, red onions, mozzarella, goat cheese, and that final drizzle on top. Sweet, smoky, bold, and clearly not slowing down.

If it’s already your go-to this month, we see you. If you’ve been meaning to try it, consider this your nudge. There’s still time, but it’s not waiting around quietly.

REDLINE AIRSHOWS

We ran a re-air of our Barnstormer Bite with Ken and Austin from Redline Airshows this week, and it feels like perfect timing to give them another shout.

Redline Airshows is a father-and-son formation aerobatic team flown in two Van’s RV-8 aircraft, known for tight formation work, dynamic maneuvers, and high-energy flying.

This summer they’ll be back in Michigan, performing at the Battle Creek Field of Flight Air Show & Balloon Festival July 1 – 5 in the super-awesome nighttime show, along with a lineup of other top civilian and military acts.

If you enjoyed this weeks episode, you’re going to want to catch them live when the airshow season kicks off!!

The Pilots Pick

After re-running our Barnstormer Bite with the father-son team from Redline Airshows this week, it felt right to spotlight a pizza that shares something in common with their ride.

Redline flies the Van’s RV-8, a taildragger built for precision, performance, and pilots who like to stay connected to the runway. So this week’s Pilot’s Pick goes to the Taildragger.

Dependable, balanced, and built the right way from the ground up, it’s a pizza that doesn’t need flash to stand out. It just performs.

Take $5 off any large or small Taildragger this week.
